ACCOUNTING ASSISTANT

The Accounting Assistant is responsible for supporting the Accounting department as needed. This will involve cross training to provide assistance with accounts receivable, accounts payable, purchasing, regulatory compliance and financial statement preparation.
 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and send invoices

  • Record and reconcile payments

  • Analyze customer accounts

  • Follow up on collection issues

  • Review of contract details

  • Record vendor invoices

  • Complete credit applications

  • Prepare state and local license renewals

  • Assist with state and local sales/use returns

  • Assist with journal entries for preparation of monthly financial statements

  • Support purchasing

  • Greet customers

  • Answer phone calls

  • Handle sensitive information in a confidential manner

  • Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor or management

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Associates Degree in Accounting, or minimum of 2 years experience preferred

  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles

  • Excellent mathematical skills

  • Ability to efficiently utilize ERP system

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Operations

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Work independently
