The AV Solutions Consultant is primarily responsible for promoting ECC products and services, maintaining established gross profit margins across all sales as well as demonstrating accuracy in forecasting and the delivery thereof. 

 

Primary Responsibilities

1. Uncover New Opportunities

  • Identify sales opportunities through current and developing networks.
  • Establish and effectively manage client pipeline.
  • Perform customer-site inspections, either physically or virtually, to gather minimum criteria requirements as per site-survey requirements.
  • Follow-up on all sales leads in a timely manner (weekly, monthly, quarterly, as defined by Department Manager).

2. Deliver Effective Proposals

  • Provide necessary space details to engineering team so that a competent project design can be derived.
  • Record accurate and detailed information in CRM software (e.g. contact information, site-location, and vertical market, etc.)
  • Prepare and submit customer proposals that effectively address the technology needs of the client.

3. Close and Hand-off Sales

  • Partner with project management team to deliver the scope of the proposed solution. 
  • Execute seamless and timely communication with project constituents, including but not limited to the project management and engineering teams.
  • Meet and/or exceed sales targets established at the beginning of the fiscal year as per business plan. 

4. Additional Responsibilities

  • Performs work in adherence to OSHA and company safety policies and procedures as they are introduced to the Company; promptly report unsafe work conditions to supervisor.

  • Presents self in a professional manner and appropriately represent the Company image.
  • Adheres to company-issued policies, procedures, core values, behavioral or other standards as prescribed by the Company.
     

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Ability 

  • Acquire and maintain knowledge of current products and the functionality thereof.
  • Ability to effectively present product and/or other information to the client. 
  • Ability to execute situational approach to learn where prospects stand and thereby effectively navigate through varying situations.
  • Strong ability to influence.
  • Outstanding follow-up and follow-through skills.
  • Proficiency in programs as MS Word, Power Point, Excel, Outlook and CMR.
  • Must thrive in a fast-paced environment and effectively handle stressful situations.

  • Possess adequate communication, customer service and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with internal and external team members.

  • Ability to work long hours, evenings, weekends, holidays and overtime as required by the job.

Required Education and/or Work Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience selling AV products and/or other technology.
  • Proven track record of quota achievement and experience closing large (six figure) deals.

Preferred Education and/or Work Experience

  • B2B Sales Experience in Technology, Education, House of Worship, Healthcare, or Corporate Markets
  • 5+ years of direct sales experience in Video Conferencing, Telecommunication Services, Technology, or Software Sales
  • Direct selling experience within the assigned territory.

Motor Vehicle Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Proof of insurance is required for those who drive a personal vehicle for business.
     

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to communicate and interact verbally, both in person and over the phone.
  • Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Ability to stoop, bend, and kneel up to 5% of the time.
  • Ability to lift, up to 10 pounds independently and up to 30 pounds with assistance, occasionally.
  • Ability to travel overnight.
  • Ability to travel to work locations, sometimes including nationally. 
  • Ability to use personal computers, basic scanning devices, smart phones and professional tablets effectively; aptitude to learn new technologies as they are introduced to the company.
  • Visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned.
