The Shipping/Receiving Clerk accurately fills customers’ parts orders, maintains inventory, processes returns, and maintains tools in a safe, timely and courteous manner using approved ECC procedures. In addition, this position professionally responds to internal and external customer parts’ inquiries using the highest standard of customer service; prepares parts for shipping, and/or receives incoming shipments in a safe, timely and courteous manner using approved ECC’s procedures.

1. Performs accurate and timely warehouse functions in the following areas:

  • Fills customers’ request for parts including verifying proper quantities, part numbers, part description, condition code, lot numbers/expiration dates, etc. Responds to internal and external customers’ inquiries regarding parts issues including tracking of goods using internal and external systems and researching open orders and lost parts.
  • Maintains integrity of inventory system by accurately documenting parts’ movements in the computer (i.e., warehouse moves, order fulfillment, credits and returns etc.).
  • Maintains accurate inventory by performing cycle counts and manual counts.
  • Handles returns and credits as necessary.
  • Prepares parts shipments by inspecting and safely packaging parts, performing shipment entry (using FedEx, UPS and freight as needed), producing correct documentation and accurately attaching to order.
  • Processes incoming shipments, verifies shipment with purchase orders, and visually inspects materials for damage, quantity, descriptions, part number, serial number, condition order, etc. per approved procedures.
  • Unloads trucks using a pallet jack in a safe and timely manner. Visually inspects materials for obvious damage, properly documents any damage(s), and notifies vendor of damage and internal contact.
  • Maintains accurate and timely records regarding packing slips and waybills for both incoming and outgoing packages. Copies and attaches proper documentation to incoming items.
     

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Ability 

  • High school graduate or equivalent required.
  • Minimum three-year related warehousing, shipping, receiving, or related experience required.
  • Valid state driver's license.
  • Pass a pre-employment background check.
  • Willing to work extended hours.
  • Ability to read small print and comprehend simple instructions.
  • Basic mathematical skills- able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Ability to troubleshot problems and communicate to appropriate customers (internal and external).
  • Routinely lifts up to 50lbs.
  • Ability to tolerate standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing, and sitting throughout the day
  • Ability to tolerate non-air-conditioned warehouse.
