<strong>Conception Abbey</strong>

Conception Abbey

Conception Abbey is a monastery of the Swiss-American Congregation of the Benedictine Confederation. The monastery, founded by the Swiss monastery, Engelberg Abbey in 1873 in northwest Missouri’s Nodaway County was raised to a conventual priory in 1876 and elevated to an abbey in 1881.

The Abbey church, the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception was dedicated in 1891. Today, the spiritual descendants of Abbot Frowin provide pastoral care to 15 parishes - as well as hospitals, religious houses, and schools.

With the beautiful Beuronese murals and many hard surfaces, the sound system design demanded both attention to aesthetics and precise sound placement. Electronic Contracting provided a loudspeaker solution that blended into the existing columns. The arrays provided the ability to steer and control the sound to precise areas of focus.
