First Presbyterian Church

First Presbyterian Church

First Presbyterian Church is a fellowship of believers bound together to glorify God and to proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ through worship, spiritual nurturing, education, and mission to all people.

On March 13, 1870, the First Presbyterian Church of Wichita was organized with 13 charter members in an abandoned military dugout at what is now the southeast corner of Jackson and Twelfth Streets.

The original sound system at First Presbyterian Church that was installed in the late ‘70s was starting to fail. The lack of spare parts plus the inaccessibility to the existing speaker cluster led the church on the search for an alternative solution. The Bose MA12 speaker system is able to provide the speaker coverage and fidelity while improving the aesthetics of the church in that the existing speaker and its associated enclosure can be removed which will allow the existing ceiling to be restored.
