Saline County Law Enforcement Center
The Saline County Sheriff’s Office is responsible for the Saline County Jail. The jail is a modern facility with 89 beds. The jail houses inmates from other counties as well as federal inmates for the U.S. Marshalls Service, which is a source of income to the county through fees collected from housing the federal inmates.
Currently, the Saline County Jail employs 30 people. The sheriff’s office consists of 12 deputy sheriffs — 1 chief deputy, 2 captains, 3 sergeants, and 6 deputies. With Sheriff Alan Moore, it makes 13 certified law enforcement officers at the sheriff’s office.
In 2007, a new addition was added on to the jail. This new addition resulted in 35 new beds. Since it opened, it has been at full capacity. The jail is high-tech with up-to-date equipment with security being their number one priority. With this recent addition, the jail facilities are among the most modern in Nebraska.
