University Congregational Church

University Congregational Church is a progressive Christian church that holds the intellectual pursuit of truth equal to the emotional aspects of spirituality. Church membership consists of 270 individuals. The church holds one Sunday worship service, with an attendance averaging 150.

The church is housed in a New England Colonial-style structure built in 1987 with a Fellowship Hall added in 1991.

University Congregational Church held its first informal meeting in April of 1983, and officially organized soon thereafter. The church’s name stems from the fact that the first pastor also was a professor at Wichita State University as were a number of its charter members. The church came to Electronic Contracting Company searching for a way to improve the sound system over the existing ceiling speakers without impacting the aesthetics of the church. Electronic Contracting provided the Bose MA12 as an acceptable solution for a sound system.
