Low Voltage Installation Technician

We are seeking skilled Low Voltage Installation Technicians with experience installing, servicing, or maintaining low voltage systems in commercial environments. As a Low Voltage Installation Technician, you will leverage your knowledge and skills to deliver high-quality installations across a range of low voltage solutions, including:

  • Access Control
  • Audio/Visual Systems
  • Fire Alarm Systems
  • Nurse Call Systems
  • Sound Reinforcement
  • Video Surveillance
     

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform installations, terminations, testing, and troubleshooting of low voltage systems with minimal supervision.
  • Interpret drawings, schematics, and specifications to ensure accurate installations and configurations.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineering, and Service teams to execute projects efficiently and on schedule.
  • Mentor less experienced technicians and apprentices as needed.
  • Maintain a professional presence at customer sites and ensure all work meets company and industry standards.
  • Support project documentation and provide accurate records of work performed.

     

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in low voltage installation, service, or related electrical systems.
  • Proficiency in the installation and commissioning of at least one of the following: fire alarm, access control, A/V, or security systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience reading blueprints and technical diagrams.
  • Comfortable using hand and power tools, working at heights, and lifting up to 75 lbs.
  • Excellent communication skills and professional demeanor.
  • Valid state driver’s license and a clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test.
  • Willingness to travel and work overtime or weekends as projects require.

     

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Electronics, Electrical Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Certifications such as NICET, CTS, or Fire Alarm Inspector/Installer License.
