Aug 19 2025

Allen & Heath has raised the bar for digital mixing with its all-new generation of Qu mixers, combining cutting-edge 96kHz FPGA processing, DEEP Processing capabilities, and optional Dante connectivity with a host of workflow and hardware upgrades. Every detail has been reimagined, from the powerful XCVI core and expanded I/O to the intuitive screens and faders, while keeping the simple, approachable layout that has made Qu the go-to choice for engineers, bands, and AV pros alike.

Qu Mixers Built on a unified platform, this redefined series of Qu mixers packs 38 inputs, 12 mixes, four matrix outputs, 6 FX engines with dedicated stereo returns, and an SLink port for seamless expansion with the Everything I/O ecosystem. Recording and playback are effortless with a 32×32 USB-C interface for DAW integration, 32-track SD card support, and simple stereo capture via USB-A, giving you every tool you need to record, perform, and deliver flawless audio.

“The range offers three frame sizes to fit any setup, each available with or without Dante connectivity. The compact Qu-5 and Qu-5D feature 17 faders, 16 XLR inputs, and 12 XLR outputs. The Qu-6 and Qu-6D scale up to 25 faders, 24 XLR inputs, and 16 XLR outputs. The Qu-7 and Qu-7D pack 33 faders, 32 XLR inputs, and 20 XLR outputs. The three Dante variants also include a 16×16 48/96kHz interface.

Qu's legendary "walk-up-and-mix" simplicity reaches a new level in this generation. It now features four custom fader layers, expanded assignable SoftKeys, and flexible routing, while retaining the classic Qu 1:1 channel patching. The redesigned user interface keeps essential mixing functions at your fingertips, emphasizing fast navigation and intuitive operation. Whether using the hands-on controls or the responsive new touchscreen, you can mix more quickly and naturally than ever before.

Qu MixersMultiple hardware upgrades, from high-performance 96kHz converters to updated microphone preamps, bring a modern edge. Precision converters keep every signal clean and accurate from input to output, with every channel including a display and chromatic meter for quick visual feedback.

DEEP Processing-ready and armed with upcoming V1.1 firmware, the new Qu mixers offer optional add-ons from the flagship dLive series, including renowned reproductions of legendary studio compressors and preamps, plus Feedback and Gain Assistants from the CQ series to make setup and soundchecks a breeze.

Allen & Heath's Director of Product, Nic Beretta, says, "Bands and engineers will love the powerful processing, assistive tools, and live capture options. It's also a super flexible, all-in-one solution for studios and broadcasting applications, and AV integrators have been demanding a Dante-enabled Qu." (Allen & Heath News May 2025)
