Samsung Electronics has introduced its new 32-inch Color E-Paper (model EM32DX), expanding its sustainable digital display solutions lineup. Designed for energy efficiency and flexibility, the Color E-Paper combines advanced digital ink technology with ultra-low power consumption, high visibility, and a lightweight form factor—delivering a modern, eco-conscious alternative to traditional digital signage.
"Samsung is committed to pushing the boundaries of display innovation with solutions that enhance engagement while reducing energy consumption," said Hoon Chung, Executive Vice President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics. "Samsung's Color E-Paper empowers businesses with a highly efficient, customizable signage solution that combines sustainability and performance."(Samsung Newsroom, 2025)
The integrated battery allows the display to operate untethered from a power source, offering flexible installation across various environments. Even during content updates, the Color E-Paper consumes significantly less energy than conventional LCD signage, helping organizations reduce operational costs while maintaining visual impact. Featuring QHD (2,560 x 1,440) resolution and Samsung's proprietary color imaging algorithm, the display enhances color accuracy, depth, and readability for crisp, poster-like visuals. This innovation enables businesses to transition from printed signage to vivid, dynamic digital displays without compromising the aesthetic appeal of traditional materials.
"Businesses today are seeking versatile solutions to engage customers in effective ways while being mindful of their own energy use and impact,” said David Phelps, Head of Display Division, Samsung Electronics America. “With the launch of our new 32-inch Color E-Paper display, we’re helping organizations deliver dynamic, captivating content with an innovative alternative to printed materials—one that supports both their business objectives and sustainability goals."(Samsung Newsroom, 2025)
Weighing just 5.5 lbs1 and measuring 17.9mm in thickness, the Color E-Paper offers versatile mounting options, including wall and ceiling installation utilizing the included hanging accessories2. It even has bezels (13.9 mm) on all sides for high usability in landscape or portrait mode. Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA) mount compatibility further expands installation options and enhances convenience for businesses.
With dual USB-C ports, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and 8GB of internal storage, connectivity is seamless, giving users straightforward options for content management. Users can create and schedule display times and set up content locally through the Samsung E-Paper app for Android and iOS3. The Samsung VXT4 platform provides intuitive remote control, content monitoring, and centralized device management, ideal for enterprises with multiple displays across locations.
Powered by Samsung Tizen 8.0, the display integrates easily into existing systems through Tizen Enterprise APIs. Reflecting Samsung's broader sustainability initiatives, the Color E-Paper is constructed with recycled materials5 and packaged in eco-friendly, paper-based packaging, underscoring the company's commitment to reducing environmental impact across its product line.
