Registration for the 2026 COPS School Violence Protection Program (SVPP) Grant will be opening this spring, offering up to $500,000 in funding per K-12 school district for communication and security infrastructure upgrades. Applications will be submitted in a two-step process — Step one requires submitting an SF-424 to Grants.gov, and Step two involves submitting the full application, including attachments, to JustGrants. Deadlines for both steps will be confirmed once the grant officially opens.

While this federal funding is crucial for improving school safety, many districts struggle with the complex application process and lack the specialized grant writing expertise needed to secure these funds.
