The Regional Manager is primarily responsible for the effective and efficient planning and execution of the Company’s Regional Business Plan.  Additionally, will ensure optimal performance of its area of responsibilities and assigned teams through achievement of Key Results Areas (KRA’s) as described herein.  

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Management

    • Manage the regional profits to equal or exceed budget.
    • Provide annual, end-of-year financial and operational performance analysis to the VP & CIO, and projections for the upcoming year in areas including but not limited to staffing needs, training expenses, fixed assets. 
    • Manage staffing hours as to ensure appropriate staffing levels and appropriate management of overtime.
    • Ensure that all local office purchasing decisions and expense spending are within ECC policies, procedures and good business judgement. 
    • Maintain consistent levels of receivables, returns, inventory, and fixed asset investment levels within established guidelines based on revenues.
  2. Marketing

    • Make joint sales calls with the sales representatives to promote the sale of engineering, implementation, and service agreements to grow the company’s revenues.
    • Deliver joint presentations with sales personnel to ensure client’s embracement of project deliverables, and company business policies and processes.
    • Maintain direct customer contact to assure customer satisfaction with all ECC customers throughout project lifecycles.
    • Promote the company’s capabilities to the markets served to grow revenues.
    • Leads for product or service sales are regularly communicated to the Sales Department.
  3. Technical Standards

    • Ensure consistent adherence to company established technical service standards, thereby insuring the highest level of customer satisfaction.
    • Communicate regularly with sales representatives and other technical department heads on proposed systems to maintain proper engineering and compatibility standards.  
    • Resolve customer problems or complaints relating to installations are promptly addressed and documented as per company policies and/or guidelines. 
    • Provide proper tools, materials and test equipment to maintain the highest technical quality possible within the constraints of strong financial management.
    • Maintain accurate installation supplies and materials inventory levels to ensure adequate availability for projects.
    • Prepare timely implementation cost estimates and ensure actual costs incurred fall within defined margin of variance.
  4. Staffing Management

    • In conjunction with Human Resources and its department’s policies and procedures, interview and hire personnel, or dismiss personnel, as required to maintain the staff size necessary to fulfill contracted obligation profitability.
    • Maintain a network of qualified temporary and subcontractor technical personnel to fill short-term staffing needs effectively.
    • Offer prompt and quality service to operations team professionally.
  5. Employee Development

    • Develop clearly defined and communicated department and individual goals in support of the operational business plan and company goals that are specific, measurable, realistic and time-oriented; track, monitor and validate as per company-defined policy and procedure.
    • Develop annual staff training and development plan to include required trainings and/or certifications for assigned staff; ensure proper documentation and record maintenance thereof.
    • Partner with Human Resources in the development and implementation of written and clearly defined onboarding plans.
    • Provide adequate training to develop and maintain the skills required in providing the highest level of integration support for products that the Company promotes and to ensure meaningful progress in their current positions and future goals.
    • Provide training for the technical staff to develop and maintain the skills required providing the highest level of integration support for products that the company promotes.
    • Hold staff meetings with direct and second level reports to guarantee effective communication.
  6. Performance Management

    • Provide regular and feedback in real-time and guidance (feedforward) to assist assigned team members in meeting and exceeding their position’s performance standards.
    • Execute performance planning and conduct objective performance assessments within the frequencies designated within ECC policies and procedures.  
    • Take immediate action to address performance and/or behavioral issues and collaborate with Human Resources in the execution of corrective action measures and dismissals.
    • Reinforce and reward desired behaviors conducive to the Company’s desired culture.
  7. Regional Administration

    • Review, correct and complete all business contracts prior to submission to corporate office.
    • Maintain adequate account coverage and assignment to cover markets designated in the Regional Business Plan.
    • Demonstrate facilities and equipment reflect current technology and are appropriately maintained.
    • Maintain facilities in a clean, orderly manner at all times. 
  8. Direction, Focus, and Planning

    • A Regional Business Plan is submitted to the VP of Finance 60 days in advance of the beginning of the fiscal year.
    • An operations budget and capital asset requisition along with justification is submitted to the VP of Finance 60 days in advance of the beginning of the fiscal year.
    • The business plan and budget provide a thorough analysis of the industry changes, local market conditions and sound strategies for accomplishing growth objectives.
    • Recommend new markets to the head of Business Development.
    • Recommend new products to serve new markets to the CIO and VP when they meet the overall technical, financial, and marketing goals of the company.
  9. Additional Responsibilities

    • Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and effective manner in accordance with established policies to achieve the overall objectives for this position. 
    • Partner with Human Resources in the areas of recruitment, employment actions, employee relations, performance management, company safety program initiatives, policy development and issuance, and compliance. 
    • Cultivate positive working relationships within and across departments.
    • Perform work in adherence to OSHA and company safety policies and procedures as they are introduced to the Company; promptly report unsafe work conditions to supervisor.
    • Engage in behaviors that foster a healthy work environment and company culture.
    • Present self in a professional manner and appropriately represent the Company image.
    • Model, adhere to and hold assigned staff accountable to company-issued policies, procedures, core values, behavioral or other standards as prescribed by the Company.


Professional Knowledge, Skills and Ability:

  • Must possess managerial, business and financial planning, and aptitude for technical skills.
  • Computer literacy skills as to effectively use standardized company software programs.
  • Aptitude and desire to learn and use new technologies as they are introduced to the company.
  • Must be able to work independently and make management decisions within the scope of policies, procedures and budgets of the Company. 
  • Must be solution-focused and results-driven.  
  • Customer and employee relation skills will have direct results on the success of this position. 

 

Required Education and/or Work Experience:

  • Educational and experience background should consist of management, business, and formal technical training or experience. 
  • Experience managing teams of 20 or more people.
  • Working knowledge and experience in AV system installation. 
  • Ability to effectively train others on work standards and processes. 

 

Required Certificates, Licenses, Registration:

  • CTS Certification.
  • OSHA 30 or ability to achieve within six (6) months of hire.

 

Additional/Other:

  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Proof of vehicle insurance (required for those who may drive a personal vehicle for business).
  • Ability to work long hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays as required by the job.
  • Ability to travel overnight up to 25%.
  • Ability to use company equipment including but not limited to:  personal computers, basic scanning devices, smart phones, and professional tablet.
