ECC Achieves ABC'S STEP SILVER for 2023

Lincoln, Nebraska — ECC, a leading Midwest technology systems integrator, has earned the Associated Builders and Contractors' STEP Safety Management System STEP SILVER achievement for 2023.

Founded more than three decades ago, STEP has evolved into a world-class safety program that dramatically improves safety performance among construction industry participants. STEP scores participating companies using a weighted point scale that evaluates their Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR), OSHA Form 300A, Fatalities, and their safety processes and policies against the 25 Key Components of an effective world-class safety management system.

"Safety has to not only be a staple in our company culture, but also a personal commitment. Taking part in the ABC STEP Program not only exposes that commitment, but it also provides the resources to always better ourselves as individuals and as a team."

According to ABC’s annual Safety Performance Report, STEP participants, regardless of company size or type of work, can reduce recordable incidents up to 84%, making the best performing companies more than eight times safer than the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics industry average. Ratings range from Diamond, the highest, to Platinum, Gold, Silver, Bronze, and Participant.
