EMPOWERING CAREGIVERS AND PATIENTS WITH HEALTHCARE TECHNOLOGY

Bryan Medical Center encompasses 664 beds across two acute care facilities, Bryan East Campus and Bryan West Campus, located in Lincoln, Nebraska. Between both campuses their services include cardiology, neuroscience, orthopedics, vascular, a Level II Trauma Center, emergency departments, intensive care, women’s and children’s health, a Level III NICU, imaging and mental health, inpatient rehabilitation, mobile diagnostics and treatment, gastroenterology, oncology, urology, nephrology, pulmonary and general medicine, robotic assisted surgery, and a comprehensive bariatrics program.

Bryan Medical Center holds the Gold Seal of Approval from the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Organization, and through this seal maintains the highest standards for delivering quality and safe health care. Bryan utilizes the latest technology to care for their patients and support their caregivers, and ECC has shared a partnership for over 25 years to help their organization stay on the cutting-edge of healthcare technology innovations.

Ascom Telligence Nurse Call System
Telligence Nurse Call Dome Lights Biamp Vocia Paging System

Our firm implemented facility-wide Ascom Telligence Nurse Call Systems across both the East and West Campuses to elevate clinical workflows and improve patient care. The systems are powered by Ascom Unite Middleware with built-in Activity Reporting to capture and monitor critical patient care data. It’s integrated to the hospitals’ Admission, Transfer, and Discharge (ADT) System to streamline their healthcare workflows.

Both Bryan East and West Campuses utilize Midmark’s CareFlow Real-Time Locating System (RTLS) for Asset Tracking, Nurse Call Automation, Staff Locating, and Staff Safety to optimize and strengthen their healthcare operations. The staff tracking side of the RTLS solution consists of caregivers wearing a sensor badge that’s integrated with the Ascom Unite Middleware and Telligence Nurse Call. With this integration, when a caregiver enters a patient’s room after a nurse call, the call will automatically be cancelled across the system, and the room’s Nurse Call Dome Light will then change color indicating which type of caregiver is present within the room. The Asset Tracking side of the RTLS solution includes the sensor badges being placed on all pertinent hospital equipment, so the hospital can pinpoint the exact location for each piece of equipment in real-time.

Aiphone Video Intercom Digital Clock System

The campuses communicate facility-wide using a Biamp Voice Networked Paging System that features multiple master stations in their central PBX. ECC designed and implemented a unique, custom Automated Code Blue Lighting System in the OR that’s integrated with the Nurse Call System’s dome lights to visually show a path to the patient room where the Code Blue was initiated. Aiphone Video Intercom Stations are strategically placed throughout the facilities for an extra layer of security, where visitors press the call button to audibly and visually communicate with hospital staff to gain access to specific doors. Once hospital staff verifies the visitor’s clearance status, they’re able to remotely unlock the doors to allow a visitor to enter that specific location.

ECC implemented networked Siemens Fire Alarm Systems at both facilities to keep the premises, staff, patients, and guests protected at all times with comprehensive fire protection. IP-Based Digital Clock Systems were implemented throughout both campus facilities to clearly and efficiently communicate the time to everyone.

Through these systems, Bryan Health is able to provide an innovative care experience that puts their patients first, while simultaneously optimizing their staff’s workflows.
