Job Overview:

The Installation Manager is primarily responsible for the effective and efficient planning and execution of the Company’s project management, field operations, and employees thereof. Additionally, will ensure optimal performance of its area of responsibilities and assigned teams through achievement of Key Results Areas (KRA’s) as described herein.

Primary Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

1. Financial Management

  Manage the overall department(s) profits to equal or exceed budget.
  Manage the planning and scheduling of projects to provide an adequate workload to keep all staff working at the established chargeability target.
  Provide annual, end-of-year financial and operational performance analysis to the Regional Manager, and projections for the upcoming year in areas including but not limited to staffing needs, training expenses, fixed assets.
  Manage staffing hours as to ensure appropriate staffing levels and appropriate management of overtime.

2. Marketing

  Make joint sales calls with the sales representatives to promote the sale of engineering, implementation, and support agreements to grow the company’s revenues.
  Deliver joint presentations with sales personnel to ensure client’s embracement of project deliverables, and company business policies and processes.
  Maintain direct customer contact to assure customer satisfaction with all technical services customers throughout project lifecycles.
  Promote the company’s technical services capabilities to the markets served by the company to grow revenues.
  Leads for product or service sales are regularly communicated to the Sales Department.

3. Technical Standards

  Provide training for the technical staff to develop and maintain the skills required providing the highest level of integration support for products that the company promotes.
  Ensure consistent adherence to company established technical service standards, thereby insuring the highest level of customer satisfaction.
  Communicate regularly with sales representatives and other technical department heads on proposed systems to maintain proper engineering and compatibility standards.
  Resolve customer problems or complaints relating to installations are promptly addressed and documented as per company policies and/or guidelines.
  Provide proper tools, materials and test equipment to maintain the highest technical quality possible within the constraints of strong financial management.
  Maintain accurate installation supplies and materials inventory levels to ensure adequate availability for projects.
  Prepare timely implementation cost estimates and ensure actual costs incurred fall within defined margin of variance.

4. Project Management

  Review project contractual documents and ensure consultation with sales representative, technician and customer occurs prior to processing as to ensure that department can deliver the system’s functionality objectives, completion timelines and budgets.
  Ensure that Project Managers and/or Lead Technicians are assigned and overall scheduling of projects, resources and personnel is made to meet department quality, service and profit objectives.
  Conduct regular project reviews with Sales representative(s) and Lead Technicians to determine projects’ status, costs in relation to budgets, review technical issues, and coordinate any timeline changes, change orders or technical issues.
  Ensure that actual costs of completed projects do not exceed 110% of their budgeted amount.
  Prepare, execute and submit substantial completion documents, as well as any documents necessary to invoice and close completed projects to the Finance department within the company’s policies and procedures.

5. Staffing Management

  Interview and hire personnel, or dismiss personnel, as required to maintain the staff size necessary to fulfill contracted obligation profitability, in conjunction with Human Resources and its department’s policies and procedures.
  Maintain a network of qualified temporary and subcontractor technical personnel to fill short-term staffing needs effectively.

6. Employee Development

  Develop annually, clearly defined and communicated department and individual goals in support of the operational business plan and company goals that are specific, measurable, realistic and time-oriented; track, monitor and validate as per company-defined policy and procedure.
  Develop annual staff training and development plan to include required trainings and/or certifications for assigned staff; ensure proper documentation and record maintenance thereof.
  Develop and implement written and clearly defined onboarding plans.

7. Performance Management

  Provide regular and feedback in real-time and guidance (feedforward) to assist assigned team members in meeting and exceeding their position’s performance standards.
  Provide objective performance assessments as per the company’s established procedures.
  Reinforce and reward desired behaviors conducive to the Company’s desired culture.

8. Additional Responsibilities

  Cultivate positive working relationships within and across departments.
  Perform work in adherence to OSHA and company safety policies and procedures as they are introduced to the Company; promptly report unsafe work conditions to supervisor.
  Engage in behaviors that foster a healthy work environment and company culture.
  Present self in a professional manner and appropriately represent the Company image.
  Model, adhere to and hold assigned staff accountable to company-issued policies, procedures, core values, behavioral or other standards as prescribed by the Company.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Ability:

  Must possess managerial, business and financial planning, and technical skills.
  Computer literacy skills as to effectively use standardized company software programs.
  Aptitude and desire to learn and use new technologies as they are introduced to the company.
  Must be able to work independently and make management decisions within the scope of policies, procedures and budgets of the Company.
  Must be solution-focused and results-driven.
  Customer and employee relation skills will have direct results on the success of this position.
  Ability to work long hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays as required by the job.

Required Education and/or Work Experience:

  Educational and experience background should consist of management, business, and formal technical training or experience.
  Experience managing teams of 20+.
  Advanced knowledge and experience in electronic system installation.
  Experience installing and troubleshooting low votlage systems including Access Control, Audio/Visual, Fire Alarm, Intercom, Nurse Call, and Video Surveillance.
  Ability to effectively train others on work standards and processes.
  Previous electronic system installation experience is required.
  OSHA 30 or ability to achieve within six (6) months of hire.

Motor Vehicle Requirements

  Valid driver’s license.
  Proof of vehicle insurance (required for those who may drive a personal vehicle for business).

As our firm continues to grow, so does our need for more people on our Service Team to support our systems. Our Service Technicians service, inspect, and maintain all of our technology solutions including Access Control, Audio/Visual, Fire Alarm, Healthcare Communications, Sound Systems, & Video Surveillance. You'll train with our Lead Service Technicians on multiple service calls, getting first hand experience on how to support our cutting-edge technology solutions. From football stadiums, to hospitals, to schools and banks, you'll immerse yourself throughout the state of Nebraska being hands-on with the technology that powers it.


Requirements

  Associates Degree in Electronics
  Strong researching, problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  Excellent phone and email communication skills
  Able to provide excellent customer experience
  Be a point of escalation for difficult customer cases, de-escalating the situation where needed
  Adaptability to work independently and part of a team bringing in experts when needed
  Current concepts around secure remote PC access/VPN
  Setup and use of TeamViewer and other remote software
  Passion for technology and learning
  Work well with employees in other departments and from other offices
  Experience with offsite Alarm Central account setup and troubleshooting
  Ability to deploy on-site solution when needed
  Valid state driver's license
  Pass a pre-employment test/drug screen
  Willing to travel when necessary
  Willing to work overtime/weekends when necessary
  Must be able to climb and work off ladders or scaffolding
  Must be able to lift 75lbs when necessary

Experience:

  Nebraska State Fire Alarm Inspector License (Possess or be able to obtain within 6 months)
  Nebraska Fire Alarm Installer License (Possess or be able to obtain within 6 months)
  NICET II in Fire Alarm Systems Certification (Preferred but not required)

Experience in troubleshooting a majority of the following systems:

One of the leading integration firms in the Midwest is getting even bigger. Our Installation Department is expanding, and we need qualified people to lead the charge. 

Our techs install a wide variety of low voltage systems such as: access control, audio/visual systems, fire alarm, nurse call, sound reinforcement, & video surveillance. As a new hire, you’ll train with our lead technicians at multiple job sites to learn about all our systems and how to install them. Once you learn the ropes you’ll start managing projects from start to finish. You'll become a familiar face by interacting with our other dedicated departments to ensure premium service such as: Engineering/Drafting, Purchasing, Shipping/Receiving, and Custom/Service.
